Deadly Weekend in Southwestern Minnesota
It was a deadly weekend around southwestern Minnesota.
A woman and a girl have died after a boat overturned on Lac qui Parle lake, sending its occupants into the water.
The boat flipped over Saturday afternoon near Boyd's Landing. The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office says authorities pulled three people from the water. A man and a girl were taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson. A woman was taken to the Chippewa County Hospital in Montevideo.
The girl and woman were both pronounced dead at the hospitals.
Authorities are investigating.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
Also, a 35-year old Jeffers man was killed in a crash Saturday morning in Balaton.
According to an obituary, Matthew Rand of Jeffers was killed in a crash on Saturday in Balaton. The crash occurred around 2-am, when the vehicle Rand was driving left US Highway 14 rolled, and started on fire.
There are not a lot of other details available on the crash.
